DS 140 Photoshop: Image Manipulation & Composite Composition

date

March 2024

The project "Listening to the Silence" focuses on creating a composite image inspired by Marwan Makhoul's writing from 2007, set in a village in Palestine. The main scene to be depicted is of a little girl seeking solace by listening to birds amidst the silence left by the absence of warplanes. The woman in the composition, overwhelmed by the noise and smoke of warplanes, contrasts with the girl's attempt at finding peace in nature. The aim is to convey emotions of distress, solitude, and hope, symbolizing the contrast between innocence and the devastating impact of conflict. Through image manipulation and composition in Photoshop, this project aims to illustrate the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring connection between humanity and nature despite the horrors of war.
